I am a graduate of the Minneapolis College of Art and Design [MCAD] with a BFA in illustration. I spent the first two years of my college life at MCAD studying Animation, which I also love. I live in Alaska with my family, and work as a freelance illustrator.
My main focus is Children's Book Illustration, however I enjoy Editorial work and Product Design and am currently working on several product lines. I am skilled with digital art, Photoshop CS3 and Illustrator CS3 are the main programs I use.
Currently I am seeking freelance work and looking for an Artist Rep. Feel free to e-mail me if you've got a project in mind that you think I'd be good for.

A little bit about my art;
Something I strive for in my art is quick readability and an easy message. Wordless stories have always been attractive to me, and I prefer that my art be understandable and enjoyable without any words.
While I have a very wide array of styles some recurring elements in my work is a strong use of white or negative space, often drawing on the background to fill in pieces of my illustration or integrate my illustration to the page.
I also am a lover of pattern and try to incorporate some kind of pattern in almost all of my pieces. While I've been trying to work in more muted colors my natural inclination when it comes to colors is for vibrant and bright eye catchers. My favorite color scheme of all time though is olive, muted tomato and orange, but I never use it in my own work (maybe some day!).
